Yesterday I took Austen and his friend Lewis to the airport to fly to Japan! Yep, that's right, they are going to Japan for 3 weeks to visit their friend, Johnny Cope. What an amazing opportunity! Seriously, it made me so nervous to just leave him there. They wouldn't let me go back with him in security so I just had to say goodbye. I was so worried; I made them call me when they got to the gate and when they boarded. Austen called at 2:45 am to let me know he made it safely and everything was fine. I couldn't sleep until then but I'm glad he made it!

On Saturday Steve and I chaperoned the Stake youth dance. It was...fun! Mostly because Steve and I are fun! We were the only chaperons that actually got up and danced! We did all of the line dances and quite a lot of other stuff too. At first I think Austen was a bit embarassed by us until lots of his friends said, "Gee, your parents are cool! Wish my parents were cool like that!" Now he's a bit proud, I think. He even came and got me for a swing dance, which made me feel fab!
